Great veggie food in a funky little bar/cafe. Good value and good portion sizes. Gourmet society only available weds/thurs. But I went on Tues and they do free pudding with your meal. I had field mushroom stuffed with courgette and beans, on a bed of garden peas and pearl barley risotto with allotment salad - £7.25. Lovely and the chocolate nut brownie for pud was delish!
The burrito's and falafel are also great here.

Alley Cafe isn't somewhere I'd go on a first date, saying that its one of my favourite places to eat out in a chilled and relaxed environment.

I'm a big meat eater so when a friend suggested meeting there after work a year or 2 ago I was a bit miffed as its all vegetarian and vegan food.

I was pleasantly surprised. Although the place is tricky to find and is small it has tons of character and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

I choose haloume and chickpea curry and a sparkling ginger beer and it remains a firm favourite (although the sarnies and potatoe wedges are delicious too).

If you're looking for a tucked away cafe with plenty of charm and great food I'd recommend giving it a try.
