My husband and & I visited Cafe Rouge, Nottingham on Thursday 1st November and we were very impressed with our dining experience, the staff acknowledged us immediately on arrival and we were seated within a couple of minutes having been given a choice of tables, a good start in my opinion. Another member of staff then brought over our menus, explained the specials of the day and took our drinks order. The menu wasnt extensive but there was a good choice between vegetarian, meat and fish dishes. We didnt have a starter and were told when ordering our mains they would take approx.20 mins, we liked being informed like this and were happy to wait. The Beef was cooked to perfection, very tender and the vegetables were al-dente, all seemed very fresh and full of taste and importantly hot and that included the plates, hoorah for that! I had a trio sample of puddings which was a pleasure to eat, not too small but small enough to be able to eat all three, my husband had the apple tart tatin which again was hot and he said reminded him of the apple tart he ate in France this September and was just as good. This was a very pleasant evening where the attentive staff seemed to be happy in their work which clearly showed in the food and the atmosphere and of course getting 2 for 1 made it even more enjoyable, thank-you Cafe Rouge and The Gourmet Society.
