What our members say about Chesterfield At Bingham

Patrick Britton

Bingham

An old Coaching Inn, in times past visited by Queen Victoria, on her journey north, which has been renovated to a high standard and justifies its reputation of first class cuisine, excellent service and an ambience that is both relaxing and as a potential to make you stay longer than you ought.

I visited the Chestefield with my partner on our anniversary and I can honestly say that we were 100% impressed with the service. We were seated immediately at a nice private table and were asked for our drinks order straight away. The food was amazing, we both had the steak which was fantastic and cooked to perfection along with a large portion of homemade chips (highly recommended!)and we were both delighted with the food, the service and the general relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. The waitresses' were knowledgeable about the food and were attentive without being too obtrusive and were able to suggest appropriate wine to accompany our food. We went for the 'try abit of everything' idea for the pudding which for the price is a really good deal and allows you too try a little bit of every pudding on the menu - we had never seen as an option anywhere else and thought it was a very imaginative idea. Before leaving we rebooked for a couple of weeks time so as you can see we thought it was fantastic and would highly recommend it to other members.

Fantastic in one word It was so different from the last time that i went, and I only went because it was new on the Gourmet Society. But now I am a convert. The staff were very friendly, and informative about dishes on the menu, which had only changed that day. The menu told you where all the supplies came from, which for me was very interesting. Both meals were well presented and very tasty. There was an excellent selection of dishes from the trusted favourites (very reasonably priced) to the more sophisticated menu choices, which all sounded delicious. The vegatarian selection was excellent as well. As you have read I thought the place was great and i will be going back.
