My boyfriend wanted to go to a cheap pub but I persuaded him to be a bit more daring and try a french restaurant . . . and now he is a convert to the Gourmet Society. The service was friendly and efficient. The choice was mouthwatering. We started with the pitta platter and goats cheese croutons, followed by a very succulent steak and melt in the mouth pesto salmon. I was really looking forward to the chilli chocolate cake but they had run out. Apparently the vanilla cheese cake was delicious, although I prefer my carrot cake a little more moist. It is a very casual restaurant with food is of excellent quality - equally suited to a celebration meal out, or somewhere to pop for a single course. Good vegetarian selection and a very extensive specials menu. All food and drinks came to just under ?40 for the two of us.
