What our members say about Little Saigon

Johanne Falconer

This was our first time going to Little Saigon and what a treat it was. The food is very delicious, the portions are just right, maybe a little pricey but well worth it. Will go back again for sure.

This is my absolute favourite restaurant, and has been since I first discovered it in July of 2008. Little Saigon is actually where I picked up my Gourmet Society membership leaflet, and is also the principle reason I joined! The food is delicious, authentic, interesting and reasonably priced, with decent sized portions, and service is always quick and friendly. However, I have noticed on my last few visits that prices are going up, and it seems portion sizes on some dishes are going down. My favourite dish (the beef lime salad) has recently not been quite as good as it used to be, and last time I had it it seemed to contain fewer ingredients. I hope this is not a trend, as a restaurant of the outstanding quality of Little Saigon is a rare find, and I would be heartbroken if it became just average! I love this place.

We have just arrived back home from eating there this evening and had to write a review to express our sincere appreciation of a wonderful meal. The spare ribs, lobster and asparagus soup, caramel black tiger prawns clay pot and special fried rice were delicious! My partner and dad loved the food also and I will definately return. This was my second visit and the service and quality of food remains consistently good. The food choice is very extensive which means I can keeping working through the menu!! The 25% off discount was very handy and we saved £20 in total! Very easy to use the gourmet card. WE'LL BE BACK!!!

I gave my son the choice of where to eat before going to a comedy gig. What a good choice! Pleasant decor, smily service and the food, Flaming Beef and Caramel Pork, was exceptional. We exchanged tastes of each others dishes and thought that both were cleverly put together taste sensations. The special rice added further satisfaction not to mention the Saigon Beers which are vastly superior to other, more well known brands of Asian beer and with 25% off the bill we left feeling very lucky to have found the place. OK, there is no direct cuisine competition to compare it with in Newcastle but quality is quality - end of.
