Located in the fabulous village of Teversal, tucked away in rural Nottinghamshire, The Carnarvon's refurbished interior has taken away nothing of the traditional charm (indeed, it's restored some of the features that had been obscured over time) while giving the place a modern and homely feel.

It's claimed that the pub's 'Ship Room' is where DH Lawrence would retreat to pen his infamous 'Lady Chatterley's Lover'. Whether you take inspiration from Oliver Mellors or settle for a (perhaps no less satisfying) pint of The Carnavon's draught beers, you'll find this a completely satisfying place to settle back and enjoy.

But this shouldn't keep you from the restaurant, with its oak floor and ash furniture complete with stylish design and furnishings. The menu is impressively big: it features over seventy main course options, with home baked pies, fabulous steaks, freshly battered fish and a huge choice for vegetarians. And the food itself certainly lives up to the good impressions of the place as a whole.

What our members say about The Carnarvon

We always enjoy eating out at the Carnarvon.

Pro's:
Recently been extended, So more chance of getting a seat (booking advised at weekends).
Delicious, quality food and a friendly service.

Cons:

The Gourmet society offer isnt available on Fri/Sat (but they are usually packed out regardless).
The recent Garden Room extension has seen a notable increase in waiting time between ordering and recieving the food, but the food quality hasn't suffered.

All in all, highly reccomended, one the best restuarants in the Nottinghamshire area. But don't forget to book a table!!!

Disappointed - the service was poor waited 25 mins to order food, the tuna came in sauce after specifically asking for it separate and the potatoes were so overcooked the water seeped out when you cut into them. A good menu however the place seemed very geared towards their 'regulars' to who the staff were very attentive. Not on the list to revist

We arrived not having booked & were disappointed to find it was now on the 'Gourmet Society' list. However depite not having phoned the manager agreed we could claim our discount. Not our first visit but we always enjoy the food, service, & beers.

I can't imagine anyone not having an enjoyable meal. Three separate rooms plus the garden in decent weather in which to eat, one of which is a pleasant airy dining room.

Excellent friendly staff & even when quiet a nice atmosphere.

According to the manager, we were the first Gourmet Society members to eat at this venue. They had only just joined yesterday! Excellent selection on the menu - more than enough to choose from. All well cooked. Service impecable. We will certainly be returning.
