The Olive Tree

Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

The Olive Tree, a cosy hotel in Nottingham City Centre that has been a long time favourite of the Gourmet Society, has changed a lot since the last publication of our directory.
Under new management the name changed from 'Yardleys' to 'The Olive Tree' but keeps the spirit and quality that has always been synonymous with its name. The Olive Tree always serves up a selection of delicious tapas on Friday and Saturday nights (with plans to open on other evenings shortly) which is proving to be very popular with Nottingham residents in the know.
The Olive Tree is the place to go for traditional Spanish dishes such as green olives stuffed with sun dried tomatoes, Spanish chicken in a special sauce and the ever popular calamari.
With its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff, The Olive Tree is a great place to have an informal lunch or a spicy evening meal.

Last night 6 of us used our Gourmet card for the first time. We went to the Olive Tree, it wasn't a Restaurant that we'd heard of or been to before. Well,we had an excellent time, we ordered plenty of main courses as past experiance with Tapas is that the dishes are very small. But we we're all pleasantly surprised, each dish was generous and it was all very tasty. The waitress/bar person was great, she was helpful and friendly. The only negative for The Olive Tree was the time it took for the meal to arrive, so speed up the cooking and it will be a 10/10. See you again soon.

i didnt know that you could write a review, but we went to Yardleys April for my husbands birthday. we love tapas and that is what he wanted instead of a fancy meal. well it was terrible. the place smelt musty, the food sparce you could tell it was all bought in food, nothing different or homemade. the only reason we stopped was that it was a saturday night and everywhere elese was very busy. and my husband didnt want me to be too upset at a disapointing night for his birthday. but unless it has changed hand again its terrible, also for a saturday night we should have know something was wrong as there were no people eating and only three at the bar. anyway the other gourmet places we have enjoyed thank you mrs mary burton.
