Stemming origins from half way through the 17th century, The George Hotel, formally known as The George and Dragon, is a rich historical spot for Stoke, having been a venue for all occasions across several generations. Now best known for its delectable dishes served in its bar and restaurant, The George also offers guests a delightful spread for Afternoon Tea.
A classic ensemble is presented for diners, consisting of a selection of delicate sandwiches, with traditional fillings, the classic warm scones, accompanied with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and the chef’s pick of the day special cake. These are joined by the diner’s choice of coffee or tea, and there’s the option of adding a glass of prosecco in case the occasion demands a touch of opulence.
Gourmet Society members who call in advance can enjoy this afternoon refreshment, served between 12pm and 4pm, at an excellent price, granting guests all the reason they could need to bring a friend to the feast.
