A hugely popular pub and restaurant found in the heart of the town of March in Cambridgeshire, Georges is now also home to a rather lovely afternoon tea. Located in the very centre of this charming Cambridgeshire town, Georges has long been the place of choice for a pint of real ale or an enjoyable pub lunch and thanks to its recent addition of afternoon tea to the menu, it is now the perfect destination for an afternoon of pampering over some tasty sweet and savoury treats.
Afternoon tea without all the pomp and ceremony is what is on offer at the lovely Georges, and the kitchen offer a well thought out menu. The scones are large, crumbly and as fresh as can be considering they have been homemade by the kitchen team. Served warm, they are accompanied by either Devonshire or Cornish clotted cream depending upon preference and the sweetest of Strawberry jams.
The sandwich selection is excellent and includes coronation chicken and tuna mayonnaise sandwiches while the loveliest mini tartlets and homemade Victoria sponge cake take care of the sweet side of things. A lovely pot of English tea provides the refreshment and for those who want to add a touch of sparkle to the afternoon, head to the bar to peruse the wine list.
A chilled out, friendly ambience is found at Georges in March, a pub renowned for its award winning ales. Now entering the world of afternoon tea, it has quickly become the place to go for a relaxing afternoon in the centre of the town.
