Amazing Thai Restaurant

32 Lower Parliament Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, NG1 3DA

Thai

While remaining one of the most popular Thai joints in Nottingham, it could be said that the Amazing Thai Cafe offers an entirely distinct experience from what's normally expected from this kind of restaurant . Perfect for those that wish to step outside of the normal Thai night out, this modest-looking and discreet restaurant switches up the role of passive customer to something a bit more fun and altogether more challenging as soon as one gets passed the quirky entrance.

The one to go for is the Barbecue hot plate and Suki Yaki - an all-you-can-eat fixed priced menu that includes starters, mains and desserts. When, soon after, we're presented with a variety of fresh and raw marinated meats, fish, prawns, squid and vegetables, one's expected to get proactive and hit the grill or the hot pots in front of you to cook your own food precisely to your own liking, at the same time embarking in an experience that will engage everyone at the table and certainly make for a memorable time.

The plates come beautifully presented and the staff is friendly and attentive. The decoration of the room combines Thai influences and contemporary ones, with light wood clad walls matching the chairs, and small mirrored alcoves sunk into the walls, the latter lit up using lamps and tea light candles to create a warm, relaxed and intimate ambiance.

Amazing Thai Restaurant is located at Lower Parliament Street, on the corner with Broad Street, very near to Victoria Centre and the night club Oceana.

What our members say about Amazing Thai Restaurant

Tom A.

Nottingham

I went to Lantong with with my girlfriend and another couple and we had no idea what to expect, but we were certainly impressed. I had a traditional Thai soup for starter which was packed full of prawns, chicken and vegetables (and chillis). One of my dining companions commented that it would have been suitable for a main course for her! It was delicious and a little bit firey, but not to it's detriment. The main course was just as tasty (Ihas a duck dish with egg fried rice) and the service was also extremly friendly and accomodating. The decor wasn't great, but I don't think that matters when you are made to feel so welcome and the food is as good as it was. We all agreed that we would return and I would recommend Lantong to anybody who would like an authentic Thai experience.
