29 London Road, Alderley Edge, Cheshire, SK9 7JT
Yara Restaurant in the Cheshire town of Alderley Edge is the second Yara to open its doors to the north west of England, introducing the wonderful flavours of Lebanese and Syrian cuisine to local residents. The first Yara Restaurant opened back in 2009 in Altrincham and was such a huge success the team quickly opened the doors of their Alderley Edge establishment. Proving to be a big success, the menu offers a triumphant selection of authentic dishes from both Lebanon and Syria, all presented beautifully and served by Yara's professional and friendly staff.
Sample classic starters such as the mouhamara which consists of crushed walnuts and wheat with red peppers, herbs and olive oil all served with warm pitta bread or the potato kibbeh - mashed potato stuffed with minced lamb and spices. Traditional main courses like chicken tawook - grilled skewered chicken breast served with a special red sauce or fassoulieh - tender chunks of lamb cooked with fresh runner beans, onions and a garlic tomato sauce served with rice never fail to impress. Authentic desserts include the delicious baklava which simply melts in the mouth.
Diners can bring their own bottle at Yara Restaurant for a small corkage fee, but for those who prefer to sample some of the restaurant's own wine cellar there are some stellar Lebanese wines to enjoy. Old meets new at Yara as far as the décor is concerned. Low beamed ceilings in black and white stay true to the period charm of the building whilst a smart and contemporary dining area sits beneath with crisp white tablecloths and sleek black seating. There is a small patio to the front with a smattering of tables for those who wish to dine al fresco.
