Found on The Roe in the St. Asaph area of Clwyd, The Plough Inn is a modern city eatery that delivers all of the warmth and comfort expected of a country pub. The venue has been open for 15 years and is home to a restaurant, lounge and bar area that served to cater for any situation – no matter the size of the party.
Using only the best in locally sourced ingredients to ensure that their food is of the best quality, The Plough Inn has been able to create a menu that will wow even the fussiest of eaters. From a set of light bites and starters that include a warm chicken fillet, complete with chorizo and a rocket salad, and a Gambas pil pil, a sizzling prawn dish cooked in garlic, chilli and olive oil, to the more indulgent platters that are just perfect for sharing (or for the more gluttonous of diners).
Following on are a set of mains that contain an array of old favourites alongside those from further afield. Take a look at the blackboard to see which of the daily homemade pies are available, or go with the ever-popular Welsh cask ale battered north-sea cod number – perfect for the traditionalists. Straight from the skillet and accompanied by stir-fried marinated vegetables are a number of meats that are fit to satisfy any carnivorous craving, such as the Cajun chicken and the black bean beef strips, which is taken one step further with a range of steaks that are cooked to the customer’s liking and with their choice of sauce.
Delighting sweet teeth far and wide, the desserts on show are nothing short of exquisite. A rich and heart-warming hot chocolate fudge sits next to a warm waffle that is drizzled in the sweetest of butterscotch sauce. The menu can also boast the quintessentially British savoury favourite that is the cheese board.
The open plan kitchen at The Plough Inn gives guests an insight into what’s going into their food and how it is developed, while the chefs are always on hand to answer questions and listen to suggestions – allowing for a first-class dining experience.
