Enviably situated close to the famous Pulteney Bridge in Bath, the Pulteney Bridge Restaurant serves a fine menu of Mediterranean cuisine. Pulteney Bridge is one of the city's major attractions built by Robert Adam back in 1769 and is a beautiful sight with its sweeping weir. The restaurant, named after the bridge due to its close proximity, offers residents of Bath and visitors to the city a taste of the Mediterranean with its superb bistro menu. Food is cooked to order and only the freshest ingredients are used in each dish. Perhaps start with a plate of sautéed squid in a parsley, garlic and white wine sauce with caramelised red and yellow peppers or terrine of duck and chicken legs confit wrapped in Parma ham and served with an onion chutney dip. Main courses include dishes like venison steak on sweet and sour red onion, braised red cabbage, Parisienne potatoes and a red wine jus and fresh fillet of sea bass with an olive, tomato, capers and peanut sauce served with broccoli, carrots and parsnips. The décor at the Pulteney Bridge Restaurant is charming, with a real bistro style feel to it. Dark, polished wood chairs with tables topped with pretty white linen tablecloths set the scene in the dining room and a beautiful chandelier is a real feature in the centre of the room. Huge windows to the front allow light to flood through in the daytime and tempt diners into the restaurant at night. The Pulteney Bridge Restaurant has it all really - a superb location close to one of Bath's most famous sights and a fabulous menu and setting in which to enjoy lunch or dinner.

What our members say about Pulteney Bridge Restaurant
We visited on a Wednesday in Sept 2015 in the early evening. The restaurant is very Italian and we had two different dishes that were nicely cooked and presented. We think the details on the website should be 'tweeked' to emphasize that this is mainly Italian cuisine. Service was good and prices within our 'modest' expectations. We would return if staying in Bath again.
