What our members say about The Balloch House, Loch Lomond - Vintage Inns
It was a beautiful sunny day and we decided to take the short drive down to Loch Lomond to enjoy the nice weather and just hoped we would be able to secure a nice seat on the balcony at the Kilted Skirlie! We sat for over 20 mins waiting for a drink we had ordered and in the end gave up. There were a lot of wasps around and there was a family at the next table whose daughter screamed constantly as they approached. She became hysterical and begged to go inside but her selfish parents made her sit back down! Time for a sharp exit we said!! Instead we walked the pathway through to Balloch House and got a lovely seat in the sun on their decking instead! We had a lovely table in the corner that had a huge umbrella for my husband David to sit under and I spread out on the sofa. Service was quick and efficient despite it being incredibly busy with locals and tourists alike. We opted for the lunchtime menu and I had the fish finger sandwich (£5.50) while my hubby enjoyed the southern fried chicken in a bun (£6.50). Both were tasty and excellent value. I followed with the churro sundae (£2 if having lunch menu). How very cheap. The bottle of wine was £14,95 and Pint of Peroni £4.15 and fresh orange/lemonade was £2.25. Total was £35,35 but we had a 25% discount due to me having a Gourmet Society card! Excellent all in all. Thanks to Dawn an Jackie for looking after us! Xx
