What our members say about The Shy Horse, Chessington - Vintage Inns
Disappointed again. The first time we went here, the attention to detail on the food was not there. This time the service was simply too slow. We were seated and then left without menus or anyone taking even so much as a drinks order for a good 30 minutes. The service, when we did get some, was friendly and helpful but it is clear that this place simply does not have enough staff to cope with a busy evening - and it was not even a Friday or weekend.
Teacher and Lifeguard
Service was excellent. Food less so! We all ordered steaks which were cooked as we ordered them. A good start but it was downhill from there! The prawns were overcooked, the onion rings greasy outside and raw on the inside and the coffee after dinner was tasteless brown water. But the service really was excellent!
This pub has a clean and welcoming feel to it and the menu promising but the srvice is slow. When the drinks and food did eventually arrive is was good value after the discount. Can be a little chilly so keep away from the draft of the main door.
