The Windhover in Chapel Brampton is a country pub and restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. The picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on the menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing the bar.
The building is on land previously known to house The Boughton Cold Store, as it was a supply depot during the Second World War. The Boughton Cold Store was built to store perishable goods like butter, cheese and margarine. These stores were built close to the railway line, to make the loading and unloading of supplies easy for the Ministry of Food.

What our members say about The Windhover, Chapel Brampton - Vintage Inns
The food is by and large good, but the delays are chronic. Today I went in for a light lunch and ordered two 'starters/small plates' plus some olives to nibble with our drinks, while we waited. After 30 minutes with our drinks I went back to the bar to ask about the olives and the bar maid promised to go to the kitchen and follow them up. 10 minutes later our meals arrived complete with the olives! We refused to accept the olives and the waitress was not the least surprised! Does anybody else think that 40 minutes delay for a starter is unacceptable?
