About Azzurro - Waterloo
Central London's Azzurro, outside Waterloo Station sits underneath original railway arches which create an intimate and atmospheric setting. Azzurro serves top quality and great value Italian cuisine, made from only the freshest ingredients. The team behind Azzurro have one clear aim in mind when preparing all of their dishes: to create 'naturally good food', this meaning food that tastes so good because, sticking to a true Italian principle of cooking, it is fresh. Fresh basil, fresh mozzarella, and fresh pizza dough made from free range eggs provide the foundations of the menu, which diners will be spoiled for choice by whilst browsing. Begin a three course meal with Aracini: the Sicilian speciality of risotto rice balls filled with ham, peas and mozzarella served with a spicy tomato salsa, or an antipasto board to share, loaded full of Italian cured ham, Milano salami, artichokes, grilled courgette, sun dried tomatoes, fresh and creamy buffalo mozzarella, rocket, olives, and ciabatta bread. There's heaps of authentic wood-fired pizza options, as well as pastas such as tortellini: filled with spinach and ricotta and served with a creamy tomato sauce finished with rocket and Grana Padano, and everyone's favourite freshly baked Bolognese lasagne. For something more refined, or perhaps more substantial, the prime Bistecca ribeye steak, cooked to your liking comes highly recommended. Served with roasted Marzanino vine tomatoes and rocket, this classic dish comes with a distinctly Mediterranean twist at Azzurro.
