Recently renovated, the Hi-Lo is an attractive, relaxed and popular venue which appeals to both young and older people and is something of a landmark.
They have just celebrated their first twenty five years in business, not surprising when you consider that the Observer's Food & Music supplement recently picked out Hi-Lo as one of 11 places in the UK where "those in the know go!"
Alongside their traditional Jamaican home cooking that includes Jerk Pork and Caribbean sea fish (Red Snapper & Kingfish) there is a great range of drinks, including home made cocktails. If you don't want alcohol there are plenty of fruit juices, soft drinks and Fair-trade coffee, plus an organic selection of herbal teas.
Hi-Lo is a great place for parties, as the sound system is impressive and if the chef (and music maestro) decide to make some special selections you will be in for an even bigger treat. There are live music nights on the last Saturday of every month which are licensed till 3.00 am and are fabulous fun.
