Inspired by the natural beauty of Jaflong, an area of Syhlet in India, Jaflong Tandoori serves up a plethora of palate pleasing Indian dishes that cater well to curry connoisseurs and novices alike. Based in the East Dulwich area of Greater London, next to Peckham Rye Park and close to the East Dulwich train station, Jaflong Tandoori acts as a local favourite as well as somewhere worthy of travelling to.
Now accepting the Gourmet Society card, members who call in advance can enjoy everything on the eclectic menu at an incredible price, providing the perfect excuse to indulge on a little more, be it an extra starter, another main course to share, or even some more drinks; especially if things get a little too spicy.
Overflowing with beloved staples of Indian cuisine, the menu features something that’s sure to entice every member of the party. This is true straight from the starters, which feature the likes of the juicy king prawn butterfly, fried in butter until golden, the scrumptious mushroom puri, spice and garlic enriched mushrooms presented on a moghlai pancake, and the classic tandoori chicken.
The main courses offer just as delectable dishes, with classic curries meeting some more contemporary counterparts. Particularly merit worthy examples of such include the heavenly lobster saanghee, a whole lobster adorned with spices, cheese and fresh spinach, the tantalising lamb Sali jardaloo, tender lamb cooked with honey, potatoes and apricots, and the conflagration creating chicken naga, a fiery dish that’s filled with infamously hot Bangaldeshi naga chillies.
All walks of life are catered too equally at Jaflong Tandoori, with a wealth of dishes exclusively for vegetarians and varying levels of spice in each dish. The friendly staff will be more than happy to help with a decision for those who are a little unsure, and alterations can be made to dishes with ease should guests feel like enjoying something specially made just for them.
Please Note: The Gourmet Society discount is not available on Sundays due to a buffet being served.
