Serving the people of Rochester with fabulous fare since its opening in 2012, The Quills is a charming restaurant and café that invites one and all in to enjoy a superb casual dining experience. The restaurant now accepts the Gourmet Society card, meaning that all the dishes that can be found on their a la carte menu are available at a fantastic price, leaving plenty in the pocket for a beverage or two from an extensive drinks selection.

Serving to satisfy the gourmet on the go, the range of sandwiches at The Quills leave very little to be desired and include a delectable sliced pastrami, dill pickle and swiss cheese number, a divine smoked salmon and cream cheese combo, and a flavoursome three cheese toastie, though there is still plenty to choose from for the more indulgent diner with a little more time on their hands.

When it comes to the mouth-watering larger plates, the star of The Quills show is certainly the burger, with a variety of options on show, such as the Quills burger, which is topped with smoked Cheddar, chilli mayo and dill pickles, and the mushroom bean chilli and avocado based delight, while there are also a number of choices for those wanting something a little different. Particularly enticing examples of such can be seen in the wondrous Surf & Turf, a succulent 8oz sirloin steak with paprika spiced shrimp butter, the divine barbecue bourbon ribs, served with red cabbage slaw, spiced potato wedges and a salad, and the refreshing smoked mackerel and apple salad.

With the likes of the historic Rochester Castle, the iconic Black Prince’s Well and the picturesque Rochester Cathedral on the doorstep, and the banks of the River Medway just a stone’s throw away, The Quills makes for a marvellous stop off spot before, during or after a day of exploration.
