56 High Street, Newport, Essex, CB11 3QX
In the charming little Essex village of Newport just outside of Saffron Walden, the Radhuni restaurant has been impressing locals with its exciting Indian menu. A great little Indian eatery offering a smart and contemporary décor, Radhuni serves the usual favourites expected of an Indian restaurant menu along with a good range of innovative and creative Indian dishes. The use of ingredients is impressive and seafood is high on the agenda at this lovely Indian eatery.
An alternative to the usual chicken dishes found on an Indian menu, the chicken shugonda is well worth sampling - tasty and moist chicken breasts stuffed with mint, coriander and lemongrass and topped with a delicious medium spicy sauce. The karai gosht is a wonderful lamb dish cooked with an aromatic spicy curry sauce. The meat is so tender and fresh it simply melts in the mouth. As for fish and seafood, the cod fish johl is a light fish stew filled with Indian spiced flavours and the tandoori king prawns cooked with coconut, mango, nuts and cream is a delight. Seafood lovers will also adore the Bengali seafood masala featuring mussels, prawns, squid and king fish in a delicious spicy masala sauce.
The Radhuni dining room is a cool, modern space filled with bright funky colours. High back leather seating comes in a variety of shades from browns to lilacs and reds and tables are dressed to perfection.
Radhuni is a great destination in this part of Essex for sampling Indian food that is a little different from the rest.
