A beautiful English country cottage with pretty little flower baskets hanging from its black and white frontage is not what usually springs to mind when thinking of an Indian restaurant but this is the lovely scene that greets each and every customer at the Arden Tandoori. Located in the picturesque village of Henley-in-Arden in Warwickshire, Arden Tandoori not only serves the most wonderfully authentic Indian cuisine but it also maintains the lovely period charm seen throughout the village.
The great Mr Miah has been at the helm of Arden Tandoori for over 25 years and it is his dedication and that of his team that has managed to gain and hold on to a regular and loyal list of customers. The menu features a wide range of traditional Indian dishes including all of the old favourites. House specials include the intriguingly named misty chicken or lamb which is made with yoghurt, mint and spices; the fabulously tasty garlic chilli chicken -perfect for those who like a bit of spice and the decadent tandoori lobster masala which is a real treat to the taste buds.
After a refurbishment a few years back, Arden Tandoori combines period charm on the exterior with cool and contemporary on the interior. A stylish plum and beige colour scheme conspires to create a calming vibe and furnishings are sleek and stylish. Tables are covered in crisp white tablecloths and cool Art Deco prints adorn the walls.
Located just a few miles from Stratford-upon-Avon and just 15 miles from Birmingham, Henley-in-Arden boasts a great location for visitors to the area. A quintessential English village, Arden Tandoori adds a touch of exotic spice but does so with style.
