Begin the experience with one of the sublime starters, such as the divine kashk-e bademjan, crushed aubergine slow cooked with seasoned yogurt, sauteed chopped mint and crushed walnuts, the tantalising zeytoon, olives served in a walnut & pomegranate sauce, and the palate preparing chicken olivieh, roasted and diced chicken cooked with a hard-boiled egg, potatoes and an olive oil enhanced mayonnaise.
Equally as exquisite are the main courses, which feature the likes of the scrumptious ghormeh sabzi, a lamb stew made with kidney beans, Persian herbs and sun dried lime, the irresistible zereshk polo, a sweet & sour based chicken dish adorned with wild barberries and a tomato & saffron sauce, and, for the diner looking for a safe bet, the classic beer battered fish & chips, paired with a tartare sauce and a choice of mushy peas or baked beans.
Also offering some divine desserts as a sweet conclusion to the meal, Banu at The Colonnade Hotel is sure to have something sumptuous for all walks of life.
