Having undergone a recent refurbishment, Elm Masala has transformed into an elegant Indian
restaurant. Located in Hayling Island in Hampshire, the restaurant has a good reputation for its
authentic and traditional Indian menu and excellent service provided. Prices are highly competitive,
making a meal out accessible for everyone.
The Elm Masala menu stays true to its traditional curry house background, offering a wide selection
of classic dishes that everyone knows and loves. There are also some interesting regional options
that are well worth sampling too. For those who like their curries to be hot and spicy, the naga
subwali is a wonderfully hot and spicy madras style dish made with chicken and naga chillies whilst
the mourgi masala is much milder, made with chicken on the bone marinated in yoghurt and served
with keema and a special sauce. The Bombay duck is another menu highlight made with lamb or
chicken cooked in a classic Bombay duck sauce. A wide choice of vegetable side dishes are available
along with homemade Indian breads and sundries and dinner is washed down perfectly with an ice
cold Indian beer.
The dining room itself is a stylish affair with colourful high back seating contrasting with neutral
painted walls. Fresh flowers on each white linen covered table add a lovely touch. Service is
excellent at Elm Masala and is one of the reasons diners return there.
A superb Indian restaurant on the famous Solent of Hampshire, Elm Masala offers affordable, good
quality Indian cuisine in warm and friendly surroundings.
