Boasting a fantastic central location in the very heart of Edinburgh city centre, Guchhi is a wonderfully innovative Indian restaurant. Focussing on serving the freshest seafood Indian style and small Indian tapas type dishes, this fabulous restaurant is the brainchild of Chef Vishant Das and his partner Sachin Dhanola. With years of experience behind them, including a stint in UK seafood chain Loch Fyne, the duo decided to open their very own Indian eatery in the heart of their beloved Edinburgh and haven’t looked back since.
Now accepting the Gourmet Society card, members calling in advance can enjoy everything on the eclectic menu at an excellent price, leaving plenty of left over funds for something from each section of the menu, which offers a large variety of mouth-watering dishes, all using the finest and freshest ingredients.
The Indian appetisers serve to tantalise the taste buds in style, with such superb starters as the sumptuous Govan mussels, cooked with white wine enriched coconut milk, and the irresistible Murg Chinghai, hot chilli sauce sauteed chicken wings.
Many classic Indian delights are served at Guchhi, yet the menu truly comes alive when considering the seafood specialties. Outstanding examples include the heavenly Guneshwar Scallops, baked in shell with a Bombay duck sauce, and the rich Lobster Iguru, marinated with mugkai mugatha masala.
Located close to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, Guchhi Indian Seafood & Bar is an elegant city centre dining room. Beautiful high period ceilings, original wood flooring and elegant furnishings complete the room whilst a whiff of incense can be noted in the air. A superb dining destination in Edinburgh, Guchhi not only serves a divine menu but is also pretty great for cocktails too.
