Utilising the baronial style architecture seen throughout the more grandiose buildings throughout Scotland, the turreted hotel has been hosting guests since the year, 1872. A wealth of visitors have crossed the threshold including the actor, Charlie Chaplain. With a renowned reputation it has become a choice location for holding distinguished events and weddings, the most recent being the ‘Scottish Highland Football League Awards’. Guests are able to enjoy a fabulous informal dining experience at the Lounge Bar at the Newton Hotel, where a selection of light lunch and supper style cuisine as well as the à la carte menu. To indulge in a ‘taste of Scotland’, the following dishes come highly recommended; the slow cooked beef chilli stew, a flavoursome spinach curry with naan bread and steamed rice or the 10oz Ribeye steak with garlic bread. The lounge also gives guests the opportunity to sample local dishes, the salmon in particular proves very popular due to availability and local proximity of the ingredients.

The hotel has been dubbed ‘the castle on the coast’ by locals, offering a great base to visit tourist natural landmarks like Loch Ness. Not forgetting the ‘Speyside Whisky Trail’, as it offers a chance to witness the brewing process and try some for yourself.
