Marquis Bar is a bar and restaurant in the Shettleston area east of Glasgow city centre. During the day it’s a family friendly place with lots of comfortable seating for a late breakfast, lunch or early dinner. Later on, diners can stick around for a calendar of weekly events including karaoke nights, DJs, live music and live football screenings. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and take a lot of pride in creating a great atmosphere for their guests.
On the menu at Marquis Bar Shettleston, there are plenty of dishes to choose from, all served in large portions and very reasonably priced. Food is served from Mondays to Saturdays, from 11am to 5pm so there is always plenty of time to pop down for some hearty pub-style grub. Diners can choose from dishes like an all-day breakfast, scampi and chips, a homemade steak pie and a ploughman’s lunch. Healthier dishes like Mediterranean chicken with roasted vegetables and lighter bites including sandwiches, wraps, toasties and baked potatoes all feature on the menu too. Children are made to feel welcome at Marquis Bar and can make their choices from a special children’s menu.
Marquis Bar is just 10 minutes’ walk from Shettleston and Carntyne rail stations. Lots of bus routes stop on the busy Shettleston Road so accessing the bar by public transport is easy. From Marquis Bar it’s a short walk to Tollcross Park with its children’s farm and 20 minutes to Sandyhills Golf Course. For those heading into the city after their meal, it’s around a 20 minute drive.
