McLoughlin's Restaurant at Roganstown Hotel and Country Club is a wonderful country retreat close to the town of Swords. Whilst Dublin is only 30 minutes away and Dublin airport even closer, this hotel and restaurant feel very removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's situated right next to Swords golf course and sits in beautiful grounds including a lovely Japanese garden.

The restaurant itself offers an elegant fine dining experience, with a log fire burning during the colder months and views out to the gardens in the summer. The staff here are attentive and happy to advise on the menu but never run the risk of intruding on an intimate dinner.

Seasonal ingredients influence the ever-changing menu at McLoughlin's Restaurant Swords, ensuring that all of the dishes are fresh and tasty. Meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes all feature on McLoughlin's small but perfectly formed menu.

Depending on the time of year, diners are likely to be able to enjoy a rib eye steak served with roasted mushrooms and tomatoes, a braised lamb shank served with potato gratin and butternut puree or a pan fried fillet of salmon served in a shellfish velouté with asparagus spears. Desserts like pear and pecan pudding, lemon crème brûlée or peanut butter and Oreo cheesecake are equally as tempting and delicious. The chef is happy to adapt dishes to accommodate special requirements so anyone who doesn't spot something to their liking on the menu can be sure of a perfect dinner nonetheless.

There is ample parking at the restaurant and hotel and, obviously, rooms for those who want to make a night or a weekend of it.
