Tom M.: "4 of us had lunch at this restaurant yesterday (Saturday), it being the second time we have been here as the food is lovely. Sadly some issues yesterday led to a reasonable (not bad, but not good) experience. We arrived and were sat at a table that may as well have had jelly legs, it was that wobbly, despite the waitresses best efforts to stabilise it with napkins, the table was also dirty, so we relocated, getting better. The food was GORGEOUS ! No two ways about that, the superfood salad (with chicken) was amazingly good. All 4 of us agreed that the food was lovely, portion sizes were more than adequate, and the setting is lovely with great views over the sea. However, service was very much let down by a clear lack of staff who struggled to cope with the amount of custom, the staff there were ran ragged and worked the best they could to cope, Our particular waitress worked tirelessly but was struggling to juggle a wedding party, the front bar, serving customers in the restaurant and answering questions. Anyway, she did her very best. BUT, the downside was paying, I clearly stated I had a GourmetCard when I booked the table, again when we sat down and ordered, and again when I asked for the bill. The bill came with no discount, I sent it back and the bill came out again, with a 2 for 1 discount applied, I explained to the waitress that the offer is clearly 50% off the food bill and had to show her the app to prove that, the bill went back and came back a 3rd time - again wrong, an item was charged at full price - by now I just paid the bill and left. All in all, GREAT food, that cannot go unmentioned, but don't expect to be in and out in a hurry, and check your bill. Despite everything, I would go back, as the RBG's restaurants are wonderful in all places we have used them, I think was just a particularly busy and understaffed day sadly."
