riverRLife is a unique fusion restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh, serving up the finest French and Caribbean cuisine. The original, and they believe the best of food fusion.
The inspiration behind marrying these two cuisines comes from the head chef, Leon. He developed his love of good cooking on the French Caribbean Island of Guadeloupe, with his family and where he also started his formal training to become an international chef.
He was first introduced to French cuisine prior to his service with the French Army (Marines) however, these skills were broadened whilst serving in the Marines.
Leon is passionate and proud of Caribbean cuisine developed a love of the classic French styles of cooking, particularly Provençal cuisine, which he believes has a number of close similarities to Caribbean cooking.It is the similarities of these two cuisines; the use of fresh herbs, the use of the finest olive oils, fruits, vegetables and spices that truly inspires him.
His passion for good food is almost equalled by his passion for his adopted home in Scotland. Leon is proud to offer to you the hospitality and the finest freshly prepared range of exciting dishes, with Provençal dishes from the South of France and Caribbean dishes from French Caribbean Island of Guadeloupe.
