Bringing an array of tantalising Indian flavours to the Irish town of Tuam, Santori is a quaint little family restaurant that is a must-visit for any lover of the curry. This has become even more apparent for Gourmet Society members, who are able to partake in all of the flavoursome fare served on their a la carte menu with a superb discount, providing they call in advance and produce their card upon arrival.
From the traditional favourites like the onion bhaji, the chicken pakora and the samosa, to the lesser known delights of the charcoal skewered crab claws and the jumbo prawn butterfly, the starters at Santori make for both wondrous sharing numbers and exquisite appetisers in a more gluttonous two or three course feast.
For those that choose the latter option, the mouth-watering main courses on offer leave absolutely nothing to be desired for any fan of Indian cuisine, with a range of classics being available, such as the jalfrezi, the Rogan Josh and the korma, as well as a number of choices for guests of any appetite. Particularly enticing examples of such can be seen in the fiery chicken chilli masala, cooked using green chillies and hot spices, the special Santori lamb curry, covered in a special sauce and infused with medium spices, and the spinach and Indian cheese based sag Paneer.
Be it for a pleasant evening out with the family, a casual repast with the significant other, or a catch up with some close friends, all are catered for at Santori.
