Seafront Tandoori isn't quite on the seafront but it's just a road back from Eastbourne's Grand Parade and some spectacular sea views. The restaurant serves tasty Indian cuisine and aims to acquaint diners with the traditional tastes and flavours of India. All dishes are cooked freshly to order using only the finest quality spices and ingredients. Inside, the Seafront Tandoori Eastbourne is warm and welcoming with a vibrant atmosphere and modern décor. The friendly team of staff are happy to answer questions about the food and drink on offer and to give advice on the spiciness of dishes.
Alongside all of the usual classic curries, including korma, dopiaza and vindaloo, there are some delicious Seafront specials. The chillie raan-a-zing, lamb shank braised with a mixture of chilli and ginger before being simmered in an onion based sauce, is a speciality of Avadh and on the spicier end of the scale. The Hydereabadi raan-a-zing is a very similar, but much milder dish from Hydereabad. Another of the chef's recommendations is the fish rezala, a curry from Bangladesh with a unique taste and depth of flavour.
Diners have an extensive wine list from which to choose a tipple to accompany their meal. The house wines are very reasonably priced. There is also a good range of beers, spirits and soft drinks.
Nearby to Seafront Tandoori, diners will find the Royal Hippodrome Theatre and Eastbourne Pier. The nightlife and shopping districts of Eastbourne town centre are also within easy reach. Public transport options are plentiful with lots of local buses stopping nearby and Eastbourne rail station just a short walk away.
