Serene Fish and Chips is a family run eatery near Gants Hill. The restaurant first opened its doors in 1974 and is still visited by lots of loyal local customers and tourists who are lucky enough to happen upon it. From the outside, Serene Fish and Chips looks like a no frills, fast food establishment; there are just a few tables and very simple décor. However, whilst this probably isn’t the best place for a romantic meal for two, the food and service at Serene Fish and Chips Gants Hill are both exceptional and make for a memorable dining experience.
Whilst fish and chips is Serene’s signature dish, this place is by no means a one trick pony. The menu offers a rich variety of fish, seafood and meat dishes, many with a Turkish influence. Traditional battered cod and chips is joined on the menu by Turkish style breaded prawns, calamari rings and a grilled rainbow trout. There are kebabs, lamb chops, chicken wings and a range of Turkish meze dips including cacik, tarama and humus. The menu also features a selection of burgers, including some tasty vegetarian bean burgers topped with Serene’s special secret dressing, and a selection of dishes for children. The food at Serene Fish and Chips is simple and honest, made with care and served with pride.
Serene Fish and Chips is just seconds from Gants Hill underground station, with connections on the Central Line. Ilford Golf Club and Ilford Cricket Club are close by as is Valentines Park. Those travelling by car, will find Serene Fish and Chips easily accessible from the North Circular.
