Nestled within the village of Tomintoul; the highest village in the Scottish Highlands at an altitude of 354 metres, The Richmond Arms is a warm and welcoming hotel, pub and restaurant. With Glenlivet and its famous whiskey distillery just seven miles north as well as the most stunning of views across the Cairngorms, The Richmond Arms plays host to many visitors yet is also popular amongst Tomintoul residents for its delicious home cooked menu.
Expect a traditional pub menu of homemade delights along with some great typical Scottish cuisine. Perhaps start off with 3 slices of grilled haggis served with toast or roll and butter and follow with a tasty fish supper of locally caught haddock cooked in crispy batter and served with chips and mushy peas or a meaty mixed grill of pork chop, gammon, rump steak, haggis black pudding, sausage, mushrooms and homemade onion rings. Vegetarians are well catered for too with a variety of dishes to choose from and there is a special children's menu for the little ones.
The venue itself is a wonderfully historic property and the dining room and lounge bar reflect this perfectly. Stone walls and lots of wood panelling are particularly attractive features and the tartan style carpet in the dining room reminds everyone of where they are. Large windows overlooking the stunning scenery of The Cairngorms are dressed with rich red drapes and beautiful chandelier style lighting drips from the ceiling.
The Richmond Arms is a fantastically traditional Scottish pub restaurant and is the ideal place to stop for lunch or dinner whilst visiting such a beautiful area.
