Café Rouge invites you to embrace delicious French classics in the warm and relaxing ambiance of their stunning bistros.

The menu includes delicious starters, such as the new Tian of Crab & Avocado – made with layers of sustainably sourced Devon crab and seasoned avocado, signature Soupe À L’oignon – made to their own recipe and served with cheese and croutons and Champignons À L’ail, with chestnut mushrooms in cèpe and garlic sauce on chargrilled sourdough bread.

Try classic bistro favourites including succulent 35 day aged Steak Frites, a sustainably sourced yellow fin tuna Niçoise salad and a Moroccan-style Tagine. Or perhaps the new Lamb Cassoulet – with a tender rump of lamb, served pink on a rich bed of haricot beans, bacon lardons, spinach and carrot, or the sustainably-sourced Moules – which are delivered fresh to the restaurant and gently steamed to order in cream, celery, garlic and white wine.

And for dessert? We recommend the Tarte aux Pommes or the mouth-watering Fondant aux Chocolats – a hot chocolate fondant with a melting chocolate middle, served with chocolate & raspberry fondant ice cream.

What a lovely eating experience! Cafe Rouge is an ideal place to meet friends at any time of the day. Very clean and inviting, the food was lovely with plenty choice, and the service was excellent. It will be a regular dining venue with my Gourmet Society card in the future. Highly recommended!

Milton Keynes

I used the Gourmet Society card for the first time at Cafe Rouge in the Hub development, considering an outside table as the weather was gorgeous, but concern over the spray from the fountain display meant that we dined inside - although we enjoyed watching the children of other customers playing follow my leader among the gushers. We ordered bread, dips and olives to accompany a shared bowl of moules mariniere (succulent is the only word to describe the shellfish) to start, my daughter making her first acquaintance with a citron presse. The service was attentive and prompt, with three plates of steak frites (specified to differing degrees of "doneness" and all cooked perfectly according to my companions) and a sole limande turning up hot on the heels of the clearance of the detritus of the first course. That suited us perfectly, as a desire to watch the season finale of "Outnumbered" (we consider it a documentary, not a comedy) meant we had to defer consideration of the dessert menu until another day, although I must say the thought of a triple creme brulee almost convinced me to stay. And the Gourmet Society card was processed as a matter of course, which made the meal even more satisfying.
