The White Lion in Allesley is a country pub and restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. The picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on the menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing the bar.

Originally a family home and then a shop, The White Lion was a fully licensed pub restaurant by 1835. Before this the village shop sold local beer, but it was forbidden to drink on the premises, so the farmers drank their beer in a hedge down the lane. The White Lion now welcomes guests to the comfortable surroundings to relax and unwind.

Enjoy a spot by the roaring log-fire, or make the best of the British summertime by eating alfresco in the pretty beer garden.

What our members say about The White Lion, Allesley - Vintage Inns

We have been her a couple of times now and whilst not a venue for that special meal it is a very pleasant place to eat, clean and friendly. The food is good, at the top end of the "pub grub" genre I would say. A very useful place for us to go when cooking is impracticable. We will certainly be going again.

Just had a very pleasant lunchtime meal with friends. A traditional country pub with dark beams in the ceiling and open fires. A warm atmosphere with friendly staff and good service.
A varied selection of food on the menu, ranging from comfort food to sandwiches and daily specials. Overall quality of both food and drink was good, offering value for money, particularly using our Gourmet Society discount card!
